Hey there!! First of all, I'd like to say I'm really enjoying our CR and really looking forward to seeing how Cain and LWJ develop. I do have one thing to bring up which is that I've noticed that Cain seems to use 'the Asian' as an epithet with LWJ or will otherwise refer specifically to his Asian-ness, like with regards to his relationship with alcohol. I'm not sure if this is something that Cain does in canon or not, but it is a little bit jarring to read in narration. I understand when he was thinking that Lan Wangji is ancient Chinese so that he could figure out how to address him, but I guess I'm just not sure how him being Asian was relevant to any of the other situations. If it's possible, could you please use other ways of describing or referring to LWJ besides his Asian-ness?
Ah, I mean no offense especially since I live in an Asian community and work in Healthcare and know for a fact that many Chinese have low tolerance of alcohol and avoid it altogether, especially compared to western cultures. Why Cain would have noticed this. But if you want, I'll happily change it.
As to why it's used Asian normally. At the moment, that's what he knows about him. He doesn't have many other titles he could use for him besides this guy is Asian. Not even 'Chinese' because he never said he was from China, or a cultivist because he didn't really talk about that. I usually use narrative in reference to what the character knows, and besides "man and LWJ and Asian" he doesn't have much to mentally reference him at the moment.
